NEWS
In what comes as a shock or a complete lie, point guard Baron Davis said he is happy to be in Cleveland.
Davis was traded from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Cleveland Cavaliers, a move many thought would upset him greatly.
Instead, Davis believes the change of scenery could revitalize his basketball career and he has changed his jersey number to 85.
Davis grew up on 85th street with his grandparents and wants to honor that with his jersey switch. ( Read More…)

The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired point guard Baron Davis in a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers.
In exchange, the Cavaliers will send Mo Williams and Jamario Moon to the West Coast. The Cavaliers also get a first-round draft pick.
The Cavaliers certainly get the better end of the deal as far as receiving the better player and getting a quality draft pick.
However, they are taking on Davis and his big contract, and he had been a disappointment in Los Angeles. ( Read More…)

The hapless Cleveland Cavaliers have set a new NBA record for futility, losing their 25th straight game.
The Cavaliers lost a close game to the Dallas Mavericks and have a chance to win but fell just short.
After starting off the season much better than expected, Cleveland has been every bit as bad as feared.
While the losses continue to pile up, many players still believe the team isn’t as bad as the record indicates. ( Read More…)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are preparing for the return of LeBron James by beefing up extra security at the arena for their showdown with the Miami Heat.
The team has also decided that fans will not be allowed to bring any anti-LeBron material into the arena, which is a surprising move.
There are concerns that fans could get out of hand and unruly when their former superstar makes his first appearance back in Cleveland.
This is probably going to be overhyped in the end, as I doubt anything terrible is really going to happen. ( Read More…)

By Bud L. Ellis
Obviously, it goes without saying that the 2010-11 NBA season marks the dawn of a new era in Cleveland Cavaliers history. Or would it be more appropriate to say the sun setting on the brightest days in the franchise’s history?
Either way you slice it – or either way you view LeBron James’ departure to the glitz and glamour of South Beach and the Miami Heat – it’s a new ballgame in Cleveland. And so far, the sledding has been tough for the Cavs in the first days A.L. (After LeBron). ( Read More…)

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Mo Williams said he nearly walked away from the game after LeBron James announced he was heading to Miami.
Williams would have walked away from a contract with three years remaining and about $24 million.
He said none of that mattered to him at the time because the decision put him in such a funk that he didn’t care about basketball anymore.
Williams said he was in denial at first and even wrote some harsh comments about LeBron’s decision on Twitter. ( Read More…)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are expecting to see a lot more of shooting guard Daniel Gibson in the upcoming season.
Gibson saw his playing time decrease last year despite being one of the few players LeBron James actually trusted with the ball.
He has the ability to knock down outside shots and the team hopes he can develop into a more complete player.
He is one of the few players on the current roster that has some considerable scoring ability, something Cleveland desperately needs with the departure of James. ( Read More…)

Miami Heat star LeBron James said that Cleveland Cavaliers owner Daniel Gilbert is a big source of motivation.
James was less than pleased by the nasty letter Gilbert wrote to his fanbase ripping James apart.
LeBron said a lot of the stuff in the letter was not true, especially the part about him quitting on his team during the playoffs.
He said that Gilbert showed his true colors in the letter and that he didn’t care about James or his family. ( Read More…)

A month after announcing his decision to head to Miami, LeBron James got around to thanking the Cleveland Cavaliers fans for their support over the years.
James’ big announcement on ESPN drew the ire of Cavaliers fans who held out hope he would remain in Cleveland.
The hometown boy’s decision to bolt a city that hasn’t seen a championship in many decades was just the latest bit of sports torture.
He recently came under even more scrutiny after taking out an ad in an Akron newspaper to thank those from his hometown who supported him all this time.
Fans in Cleveland wanted to feel the love as well, and now they have, although I’d say it’s too little, too late.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have traded guard Delonte West to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Also in the deal, the Cavaliers sent guard Sebastian Telfair to Minnesota for center Ryan Hollins and a second round pick.
The Cavaliers had enough of West’s off-the-court problems and are happy to dump that on another team.
Hollins is a very athletic, under-developed big man that the Cavaliers hope will become a mainstay in the paint. ( Read More…)
